This is Not a Love Story

An unexpected meeting. A drink that lingers a little too long. In This Is Not a Love Story, two people with a tangled past sit across from each other and peel back the layers of what once was—and what might still be. Written by Prisca Jebet Kendagor and featured in the Kansas City Fringe Festival, this intimate, slow-burning encounter invites you into a space where tension simmers, truths surface, and every glance holds a story. It’s not about romance. It’s about everything that refuses to stay buried.

Cast & Crew

Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

We are so lucky to be part of such an incredible team with over a century of combined experience and can not wait to bring this show to life in front of a live audience.

Enjoyed another version of this play at KC Public. New cast and rewrites made for another interesting watch. Great tension created between the two lovers broken with excellent timing by the third providing great comedic relief and a sort of meta entrance to the not couple’s relationship for the audience.

I enjoyed the play and performances of This is Not a Love Story. It’s a will they/won’t they story with some laughs and even a dance number. It held my attention the whole show and had interesting characters that left me wanting more!

Forrest Attaway performance was outstanding! This was like watching a television soap if you love drama and love stories. Thirty-five years is a long time to have an affair to never end up together. They kept you entertained and wanting more. It wasn’t long enough.
